Join us to hear the hosts of The Times Past Imperfect podcast in conversation with actress Minnie Driver about how moments in her early life have informed her identity, career and drive to succeed.

In this special collaboration with The Times Past Imperfect podcast, Minnie will be talking with Rachel Sylvester and Alice Thomson about her debut memoir Managing Expectations.

This collection of delicately crafted, heartfelt essays uses her formidable storytelling skills to examine and understand her less than ordinary life.

Minnie Driver is best known for her breakout role in Circle of Friends and the 1997 film Good Will Hunting, which hailed nominations for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She has appeared in numerous television programmes, including The Riches, starring opposite Eddie Izzard, for which she was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe. She is also a singer, with three studio albums.

In Managing Expectations, Minnie shares behind the scenes stories of her ordinary human life, which has sometimes been made extraordinary by circumstance. From her unconventional early years living in Barbados to the shock of fame, Minnie discusses how motherhood, love, success, failure, the power of sisterly love, and the loss of her beloved mother have shaped her. She considers how reaching for a dream is easily more interesting, expansive, sad and funny than the dream itself coming true.
