Master the art of abstract photography at our full-day online workshop with acclaimed photographer and Times+ tutor Nigel Wilson.

Join us for this new online photography course where you will be looking at experimental and conceptual image makers and learning how you can apply some of their techniques to your own work.

There is a rich creative tradition of abstraction in photography and you will have the opportunity to examine and discuss in detail the work of practitioners of this fascinating genre, as well as practice your technique under the guidance of experienced photographer and tutor Nigel Wilson.  Influenced by these great artists, you will  experiment with abstraction and create your own images which will then be reviewed in the class.

During the day you will learn:

  • Camera techniques to create stunning abstract images
  • How to spot interesting textures, shapes and details used in successful abstract photography
  • About groundbreaking photographers' abstract work, both historical and contemporary

No prior knowledge or specific equipment is required for this course, but you will need your cameras with you as there is a short practical exercise to complete.

Numbers are limited to enable maximum interaction with the tutor. It will be taught on Zoom and participants will be required to have their cameras and microphones on.
